Sandy Beach recreation area is located within City limits with great amenities for washrooms, playground equipment, picnic areas, BBQ pits and access to nature trails and shore fishing nearby. Home of the Teddy Bear picnic in July. (see photo to right) Johnson’s and Ghost Lake public beach areas are another great way to spend your day on the water close to city limits. Johnson’s beach is east of Dryden via Thunder Lake road on Thunder Lake. Ghost Lake is north east of the city via Airport Road. Maps at Visitor Information Centre located at 284 Government Street. Aaron (15 km East) and Blue Lake (West near Vermilion Bay) provincial parks have full amenities, playground equipment and pristine wilderness campsites. Mountain bike and canoe/ kayak rentals are available through the Aaron Park main gate or by calling 807-938-6534. We are pleased to offer fully accessible camping sites.
